Our Work

Lancaster General Hospital

Lancaster General Hospital - James Street Addition

J.V. Heidler Co., Inc. has worked on a number of projects for Lancaster General Hospital. They requested a modern, up-to-date appearance for their new James Street entrance. The architect needed a structure that was durable and attractive yet fit in with the neighboring atmosphere. We were able to provide a large standing seam metal curved roof flanked by two smaller versions on each side. These structures were built to withstand both the changing seasons along with any future change in architectural design. More pictures of this project are available on Facebook.

National Novelty Brush (Green Roof)

National Novelty Brush

National Novelty Brush contacted us to create a roof area of plantings and landscaping. This green roof system consists of a waterproofing system and its associated components-such as protection course, root barrier, drainage layer, thermal insulation and aeration layer-and an overburden of growth medium and plantings. More pictures of this project are available on Facebook.

Biemesderfer Hall, Millersville University

Millersville University wanted the slate roof on this building restored to look exactly like the original, a challenge that required unparalleled craft and expertise. After the job was completed, it looked like we were never there. This project highlights our ability to perform roofing work of which many other contractors are not capable.

Temple Beth Israel, York

Temple Beth IsraelThis challenging project incorporated many different aspects.  We removed the exiting metal roof from the sloped areas and covered the entire roof with ice and water shield.  We worked with a window sub-contractor to remove the existing storm panel glass and install new clear tempered safety glass with curtain wall and glazing.  We then installed a new Union Corrugating Company standing seam metal roof system with a Kynar finish.  This was complete with all of the flashings and trim metals.  The surrounding flat roof was removed and a half-inch ISOGARD HD Cover Board was mechanically fastened to the deck with a new .060 Rubber roof membrane adhered over top.
